GlowTouch Technologies has partnered with the Akshaya Patra Foundation to build and open a new Mega Kitchen facility in Mangalore, India. Each day, the kitchen will serve 50,000 children attending government-aided schools in and around the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi regions.
The new Mega Kitchen held a grand opening Bhoomi Puja ceremony on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 in Mangalore, India. After years of planning and brainstorming, what was once a dream is now becoming a reality.
“This is my dream project, which aims to nourish approximately 50,000 children, help in eradicating malnutrition and also provide quality education to them.” said Dr. V. Ravichandran, CEO of Diya Systems (Diya Systems is GlowTouch Technologies’ Mangalore, India organization).
The project developed from a partnership between the GT Foundation, Diya’s philanthropic organization, and Akshaya Patra, a not-for-profit organization that provides the world’s largest mid-day meals program, serving more than 1.6 million school children.
